Big Brother 23 Day 60 - Alyssa wins the Power of Veto
September 4, 2021
8:25 AM: Feeds went down to pick players for the veto competition.
8:40 AM: Feeds returned. The veto players are Tiffany, Alyssa, Xavier, Azah, Derek and Hannah. Claire is the host.
8:53 AM: Alyssa told Xavier that the veto picks were good. Xavier said he thinks that it was probably the best case scenario.
8:56 AM: Xavier told Derek it didn’t seem like Hannah and Tiffany, or at least Tiffany, was too thrilled with the picks. Derek said Tiffany wants to keep nominations the same so she would probably rather Claire and Kyland be playing.
9:07 AM: Looking ahead to the six, Derek said he thinks that Hannah and Tiffany would want to get rid of Kyland first. Azah said she doesn’t think that Tiffany wants to get rid of Kyland. Azah believes that she would go after Xavier. Derek said he thinks Xavier sees that and that’s why he is acting the way that he is right now. Azah said Tiffany could have made a case to be final four with them if not for HoH on Thursday. Azah argued that winning that HoH was not a good decision from a Cookout perspective. Azah said if she unable to get rid of Kyland at six, her next choice would be Hannah. Derek said his hit list is Tiffany and then Hannah or Kyland.
9:28 AM: Tiffany joined Azah and Derek. Derek told her that they are running through scenarios. Azah said she is trying to make sense of what Claire would think if she won the veto, and she assumed Claire may think that she would use it on Xavier. Tiffany said Claire has hopes of her, Azah working with her so she would not expect Azah to use the veto and go against what she is trying to accomplish this week. Tiffany asked if Azah is considering using the veto. Azah said she needs time to process things as she is getting a lot of questions and it’s making her anxious. Azah added that she has always honoured the HoH’s wishes but she is just trying to make sense of things from the perspective of those outside of the Cookout. As for Derek, he said that he is not considering using the veto. Tiffany asked that they both try to win the veto as she does not want to have to nominate Claire.
9:53 AM: Tiffany and Xavier talked things over and Tiffany ended the talk by telling him that she wants him to go for the veto. She said that she would like for nominations to stay the same but if Xavier has to win to send Alyssa home, then he needs to win it.
10:33 AM: Xavier told Azah he thinks that he should be competing in the final six HoH, and Derek should be the one to win next week. Azah agreed. Azah brought up Tiffany saying that Claire would not want Kyland to go. Xavier said that means she is looking at him, Azah and Derek. Azah and Xavier discussed that none of them can win next to Tiffany in the final two but she gave everyone a reason to want to take her out. Xavier said he cant stand selfish play within the six. He brought up that he, Kyland and Tiffany have the most wins within the alliance but he is the only one who has been willing to sacrifice something in every situation.
1:10 PM: Tiffany told Kyland she has been trying to gauge where people are within the six and a couple of things stood out to her. Firstly, she said Derek is claiming that he doesn’t want to talk about anything until he gets to six but she knows he has deals with everybody and just doesn’t want to have to lie to her and break his word. As for Azah, Tiffany said she told her that she only trusts her and Derek but she feels as though her name was included only because she was talking to her. Tiffany told Kyland that she cannot lose him. She brought up going to four with Hannah and Xavier. She said she tried to feel Azah out about having a girl winner and she was not about it, so it let her know that she has something with Derek and Xavier. Kyland said he believes it since Derek always tell him and Xavier that Azah will stick with them and she is not with the girls. Tiffany asked who goes at six and why nobody is saying Derek. Kyland said Azah and Derek. Tiffany said she is stuck with Hannah, Kyland and Xavier since Azah and Derek don’t trust her.
1:44 PM: Feeds went down for the veto competition.
4:15 PM: Feeds returned. Alyssa won the Power of Veto.
4:39 PM: Kyland told Tiffany he thinks they all know the plan is to avoid having to put Claire up if possible. Tiffany asked what avoids it and asked if it’s Alyssa using the veto on Xavier. Kyland said yes, he thinks that’s where he would go with it.
4:45 PM: Alyssa told Xavier she thinks she has a plan. She said the only options to go up are Azah, Derek or Kyland, so if they get Azah and Derek to go tell Tiffany that they don’t want to go up and they will vote Xavier out, Kyland would then be put up.
4:49 PM: Tiffany told Hannah she may have to tell Claire that she made a deal not to put any of them up, and she tried to send Alyssa home, so the only person left is her. Hannah said that would have to be the angle unless they can pull off getting Alyssa to use the veto on Xavier. Tiffany said people will think this is what she gets for winning HoH so she does not expect people to be on board with that. Hannah said Tiffany should not tell Claire about the Cookout unless there is a Battle Back. She suggested saying instead that she made a deal not to put two of them on the block together and she wants to see her brothers and sisters get far. Hannah said she could then frame it as though Claire has the votes to stay. Tiffany said Claire already knows they are mad at her for winning HoH so she can say it’s because if Alyssa came down they felt she might break her deal. Tiffany pointed out that she did not say to Claire that she was not going on the block. Tiffany said she doesn’t want to completely mislead Claire but she also doesn’t want to endanger anyone else in the process.
5:10 PM: Claire spoke to Tiffany about the vote. She said she can’t imagine Azah voting Derek out. Claire said Azah would like Alyssa to go sooner than later, so Azah is likely going to stay tighter with them now that Alyssa is staying. Claire suggested that Alyssa may go out the week after Xavier. Tiffany said she needs Azah to be tighter with them than Xavier. Tiffany said she is still running through scenarios in her head but they still have time to talk about it later.
5:21 PM: Kyland told Azah that this is why they had a plan for one of them to win HoH. Azah said this is going to end up being bad for everyone. Kyland said he thinks Tiffany will want to see if there is a way to get Alyssa to take Xavier down. Azah said this isn’t the time to play magic and it will not be a Marcellas situation.
5:24 PM: Xavier told Derek he is pretty sure that Tiffany is going to try to see if she can get Alyssa to use the veto on him so that she doesn’t have to put Claire up. Xavier said Alyssa is not dumb. Derek said Tiffany has to put Claire up if she is a woman of her word. Derek said he will flip the whole house upside down if that does not happen. Xavier said Tiffany better make sure that he is not there anymore if she is going to put someone else in the Cookout up.
5:29 PM: Xavier asked Hannah if she thinks that Tiffany will nominate Claire. Hannah said yes. Xavier let Hannah know that Alyssa will not use the veto on him. Xavier asked how Tiffany is going to frame it to put Claire up. Hannah said she suggested saying that she made a deal with Azah, Derek, Kyland, Xavier and herself that she would not put two of them up together. Xavier said that would expose the Cookout and any deal would have to involve something like two people instead of all of them.
5:34 PM: Tiffany told Derek she knows that they are happy. Derek said he feels bad. Tiffany said they were the ones talking sh*t when she won. Derek denied it. Tiffany told him she knows he was considering using the veto on Alyssa to force her to put Claire up, which Derek denied. Derek asked Tiffany what she would like to do. Tiffany said she would like Alyssa to use the veto on Xavier but she doesn’t think that anyone will go for that. When Derek suggested talking to Xavier, Tiffany said she is good since he didn’t want to sacrifice Alyssa this week and she is going to give everyone what they want.
5:41 PM: Xavier told Hannah that Alyssa was going to pitch for Kyland to go up but he told her that Tiffany will have to put someone up that he would not have the votes against, hopefully setting her up to understand Claire going on the block. They talked about Tiffany framing it to Claire by saying she needs her to go up to make sure that Xavier goes home, and also adding that she made a deal with Azah and Derek.
5:51 PM: Derek told Kyland and Xavier that Tiffany is being a sore loser and said she knows that he is happy. Derek said he is not happy that she has to put her friend up.
6:23 PM: Tiffany apologized to Derek for creating any tension between them earlier. Derek said he didn’t take it personally and he cannot imagine being HoH and having to put your friend up. Derek said he is trying to figure out a way to convince Alyssa not to win HoH. Tiffany said her sending Claire home will raise red flags with Alyssa and that will not be high on her list of things to do.
6:28 PM: Xavier talked to Tiffany about how she can frame this to Claire. He suggested saying she needs to put someone up with the best shot at staying over him, and then she would break down why everyone else is not an option. Tiffany said she was already planning that. Xavier also brought up saying that she made a deal with Azah and Derek because it’s likely a double and therefore will be a quick HoH and they would have a shot at winning it. He said she could mention that she asked for protection for Claire and Hannah in addition to herself. Tiffany told Xavier that when she puts Claire up and sends her home, she does not want to have to see the block next week. Xavier said he could sit next to her or worst case everyone has reason to nominate Kyland. Tiffany acknowledged that she brought this upon herself but said that nobody else has had to put their person up and she hopes to avoid the block since she is staying loyal to the Cookout. Xavier said that putting Claire up is a way to avoid automatically losing four votes if she makes it to the end. Tiffany said she is not even debating whether or not to put her up so that’s not her concern.
7:17 PM: Tiffany told Hannah that she is asking not to be nominated next week since she should not be anyone’s pawn to send Alyssa home when she is sending Claire out. Tiffany added that whoever puts her up will be her target. The two talked about working with Kyland. Tiffany said Kyland is afraid that she would pick Hannah but she tells him no. They talked about potentially sitting down as a three but Tiffany worried about the questions that Kyland would ask if they did that. Hannah told Tiffany that she is going to try to get Alyssa to realize that Claire is the best option to go up so that she feels like she came up with the plan herself. Hannah said the two of them could make a final four with Alyssa and Xavier, acting like they would target Azah while those two would target Kyland. The goal of it would be to keep Alyssa from coming after Tiffany in the event that she wins next week.
7:33 PM: Tiffany spoke to the cameras and said she does not regret winning HoH since Claire was going to go home anyway. Tiffany said she did what she could to keep Claire as long as possible and her winning HoH was Claire’s only shot at staying. Tiffany said she has to put Claire on the block.
8:58 PM: Alyssa spoke to Azah to say Tiffany wants Xavier out but they want to make sure that Azah and Derek don’t go up because then they would have three votes to save Xavier if they want to keep him. Alyssa guaranteed that she and Xavier are not coming after those two. Alyssa suggested going to Tiffany and saying that they do not want to go on the block but they want to break up the strong duo of Alyssa and Xavier. Alyssa figured that Kyland would then go up and they could vote him out even though Tiffany believes that she would have the votes to keep him. Azah said she is down to talk to Tiffany tomorrow.
9:20 PM: Hannah told Azah and Xavier that she is thinking of letting Alyssa come up with the idea of putting Claire up. Xavier said right now he has her on the idea that as long as it’s not Azah or Derek, it doesn’t matter who goes up. Hannah said she will need to convince Alyssa that she is going to flip but Tiffany wont know it. Azah said Alyssa already thinks that she can get the flip from her and Derek. Xavier suggested letting Alyssa come to the conclusion herself rather than bringing up Claire. Hannah agreed.
9:25 PM: Azah told Xavier she thinks that it would best if the vote were 3-2 because Claire would then still be left wondering as she heads into jury. If it’s 4-1, Azah questioned why Hannah is convincing Alyssa that she will flip. Xavier explained that Alyssa thinks Hannah is close to her. He said it could end up being a unanimous vote.
9:31 PM: Alyssa let Hannah know that she, Azah and Derek are trying to make it where Kyland goes up. Alyssa said Tiffany would feel safe enough to put him up since she will think that she has the votes. Hannah said they can run through scenarios. She said they can’t have Azah, Derek or herself go up, so that leaves Claire and Kyland. Alyssa didn’t think that Tiffany would put Claire up unless she thinks that she has the votes. Hannah said that’s what she’s saying, and she would not vote Claire out unless she flipped and blamed it on Azah or Derek. Alyssa asked if Tiffany would be stupid enough to risk it. Hannah said she wouldn’t see it as risking Claire but rather giving them the best chance to stay together as the three Queens. Alyssa said it would have to be pitched as if it’s Tiffany’s idea to nominate Claire. Whether Azah votes to evict Claire or not, Hannah said she would blame it on Azah so that Tiffany looks to target her before Alyssa. The two shook on a final two deal and tentatively called themselves the “Sloppy Seconds”.
12:41 AM: Xavier told Tiffany that everyone has got her back. Derek said he hates seeing any of them in a position where they have to put a friend up. Xavier said if Tiffany is willing to do that for them, she needs to feel good. Tiffany said the hardest part is going to be telling Claire. Tiffany explained that the hart part is she cannot straight up say that she won HoH to try to keep Claire there because she was going to go home if not, and she has to bullsh*t her. Tiffany said it would be hard to make it convincing enough for it to make sense to Claire. Tiffany brought up Claire knowing that they have been targets. Xavier said she could say that in order to forward her game, she has to put Claire up or else they will be picked off in the next two weeks. Tiffany said that makes more sense since it’s true and Claire knows it. Tiffany added that she can say she made some deals that have led to her needing to nominate Claire.
12:57 AM: Derek, Kyland, Tiffany and Xavier worked on Tiffany’s story for Claire. The plan is to say that Tiffany cut a deal with Azah and Derek, leaving Claire, Hannah and Kyland as the only options. Kyland would then be ruled out since he would go home over Xavier. Kyland said she can say that if he goes, she doesn’t like her odds of Claire competing against Alyssa and Xavier. They discussed that the votes Claire would think she would have are Azah, Hannah and Kyland. Tiffany said Azah would have to be on board with lying to Claire.
1:46 AM: Tiffany told Derek, Kyland and Xavier she knows that this is her fault but it’s a tough spot and she does not want to have to go up to get Alyssa out next week. Derek said okay. Kyland said he is good with that but he wants Azah or Derek to win. Tiffany asked if Alyssa would be nominate originally. Xavier thought that they might as well do it since someone from the Cookout is leaving if she wins veto anyway. Xavier said he could go up again but it would be his fourth week in a row. Derek said if they are trying to be fair to each other, Azah and Tiffany are the only two that have not been up as a pawn. Tiffany asked Xavier what he would do if he wins. Xavier said he would probably put Alyssa up next to Azah. It was discussed that Azah and Xavier could be nominated and then Alyssa goes up if she doesn’t win the veto. If she does win, Tiffany said Alyssa would use it on Xavier and then she knows that she would probably be the Cookout member going home.
2:42 AM: Tiffany told Kyland she is not sold on the fact that she cannot get Alyssa to use the veto on Xavier. Kyland suggested that she try but he thinks that Xavier would talk her out of it. Tiffany said it would have to be done just prior to lockdown before the ceremony so that she doesn’t get a chance to talk to him. Tiffany said it’s not about Claire staying but rather that Alyssa would be tough to beat next week. Tiffany asked who Alyssa would think that she would be putting up. She said it cant be Derek since she thinks that they are working together. They thought that Tiffany would have to tell Alyssa that Kyland is going up. Tiffany said she wouldn’t actually do that and she would nominate Derek.
