Big Brother 18 Day 76 - Nicole decides not to use the Power of Veto

August 28, 2016

10:00-11:00 AM: While the houseguests were waiting around for the veto ceremony to begin, Victor asked Nicole if she thinks that James and Natalie are freaking out right now. Nicole said it’s weird that neither of them have asked her anything. Nicole told Victor she feels like they are scared of her because they are not approaching her. Victor thought that they would be assuming the target is Michelle since she has been hanging out with Paul. Nicole said that’s true. She added that she would have put Victor up if she wanted Paul gone, so they see that too. Paul joined them and let them know that James made a comment about not washing his sheets until after Thursday in case he gets evicted during the double. Nicole and Paul thought that was a weird thing to say. Paul said on Thursday he wants to tell James that he had better win HoH, otherwise he is putting him on the block. James and Nicole discussed how their time with Natalie and Corey is running out. James said Natalie may end up hating him on the outside. James took that back. He said he would be fine with them being just friends. Nicole said she knows that she is going to miss Corey. She said it hit her that she is not going to be able to wake up and find he best friend right away. James said he has been thinking the same thing.

11:00-12:00 PM: Feeds returned following the veto ceremony. Nicole decided not to use the Power of Veto. Michelle and Paul remain nominated. Michelle told James and Natalie that she or Paul will be going home and not winning Big Brother. James said hopefully it will be Paul. James said it’s now time to execute Plan B, keeping Michelle safe by talking to Nicole and going to battle for her. Michelle thanked James. James expects that Nicole will be honest with him about who the target is. They talked about how they must know that they are all targeting Victor next. Michelle said she almost called him out in her veto speech. James said she should have, but he then took that back after thinking it over. Inside, Nicole told Victor she thinks that everything is going to go well. Victor said he is happy. Nicole asked if he was scared that she was going to put him up. Victor said no. The two said they trust each other. Paul joined them and said the trust is there on his end as well.

1:00-2:00 PM: Corey asked Nicole if he should use the bribe on Victor tomorrow in order to secure his vote against Michelle. Corey thinks that Victor is acting like there is no way he would vote Paul out. Nicole agreed. She said she doesn’t think that he needs to use the bribe on Victor in order to get him to vote Michelle out. Corey said he can’t see James, Michelle and Natalie keeping Victor, the best player in the house, around. For that reason, he didn’t think that Victor would go to that side and get ganged up on by three people. Corey said Victor’s best shot is to have a sidekick like Paul. Nicole agreed. Nicole said everyone is going to vote for Victor at the end. Corey disagreed. He pointed out that Victor has had three chances and it’s not even fair. Corey explained that you are not playing that good of a game if you are getting evicted all the time. Corey added that Big Brother is not just about competitions, yet that is Victor’s only game. Corey said he only needed one chance to win the game but Victor needed three. Nicole told Corey that she wants to get Final 4 with Paul and Victor to see what's a better team. She said Paul and Victor have one smart person and one athletic person, while they have two people who are both smart and athletic. Nicole said she thinks that she and Corey are by far the most strategic people in the house. She then said that Paul is also super strategic. Nicole explained that she kept them safe and got Paul and Victor on the block by telling Natalie that Paulie said Paul told I’m that James and Natalie are after Corey and Nicole.

2:00-3:00 PM: Corey spoke to Nicole about an idea he came up with for the bribe. He said he could tell James to throw the HoH competition for $5,000, then he can let Victor win and they will vote Natalie out over James. Corey said it would then be three of them competing against Paul in the next HoH competition. Nicole said James would not be okay with letting Natalie go. She also said that she prefers to get to the Final 4 with Paul and Victor as opposed to one of them and James. Nicole said Corey could always give their word that they will keep James and then they can vote him out. Corey didn’t want to do that. Nicole said she doesn’t want to team up with James and Natalie right now because they are not the stronger side. Corey said he is just trying to think of things to use the bribe on, seeing as she turned down the Victor idea. Nicole said she didn’t and she still thinks it’s a good plan, but she isn’t sure if it’s necessary. Corey told Nicole that she has an attitude sometimes. Nicole said she knows she does. She told Corey that he thinks she is being mean because she thinks his plan is a terrible idea. Corey said she doesn’t have to put it that way. Nicole told Corey to cut it out and not get mad at her. Nicole explained that making offering that deal to James would blow up in their face since James has the biggest mouth in the house after Michelle. She said James would use anything that he can to put a target on the two of them. Nicole said nobody is going to throw the competition. Corey let Nicole know that she is going to be $5,000 richer then. She said to give it to Victor instead of her. Corey said she can take it and give it to him. Corey thought that it would be the dumbest move ever for someone to vote out their best friend in the game, which is what Victor would have to do if he were to go against Paul. Corey said nobody in the history of Big Brother has done that. Nicole said she thinks that is false.

3:00-4:00 PM: Corey, Nicole, Paul and Victor studied the days together for a short while. Nicole told them that she will quiz them later. She made it apparent that she wanted to have her HoH room to herself for now. After Paul and Victor left, Nicole told Corey that she doesn’t want to help Paul and Victor study. She said she knows so much more than they do and she doesn’t want to give up her knowledge. Nicole told Corey not to correct them when they are wrong. Corey said they will likely go after James and Natalie if they win. Nicole preferred to rely on Corey to win. She told Corey that she will have an advantage in the Final 4 if she knows more than those two, which she explained that she needs since she isn’t as strong as the guys are. She also said that Paul and Victor might put her up if they think that she knows too much. Nicole told Corey that she will tutor him in order to make sure that he knows everything that she knows. However, she said she will not educate her enemy.

5:00-6:00 PM: Corey told Nicole that James is wanting the $5,000 in order to drop out of the HoH competition because he knows that he wont win the mental competition anyway. Nicole asked if he knows that Paul is staying. Corey said he has to know. Nicole said that makes it awkward and she would rather talk to him if he knows, cause she is not trying to lie to him. Nicole said she isn’t lying to James, because things could go really bad and she may need to get Corey to switch his vote to vote Paul out. Corey asked if Nicole thinks she needs Paul out. Nicole said no, explaining that she is 99% sure that she wants him to stay but things could change. Corey believes that James is too smart of a player to drop out of the competition for $5,000. Corey said he would let James know that he is going on the block if Paul or Victor win HoH, but he can take the $5,000 and drop out if he is fine with that.

6:00-7:00 PM: Nicole wondered if they should even want James to drop out. She said they shouldn’t be scared of James winning. Nicole thinks that Paul and Victor are the ones who need to worry about James winning. Nicole worried that something is going on that they don’t know about since James wants the $5,000. Corey said it would be strategically dumb of James to nominate them. Using that logic, Nicole said it would also be dumb of them to put James and Natalie up but they would still do it. Corey and Nicole discussed that they would be upset if Michelle or Natalie were to win the game. Nicole said she needs to get Natalie to jury since she said that she would vote for a girl. As for next week, Corey said he is confident that they will be safe even if he doesn’t win HoH. Nicole told him that he needs to try to win it. Corey assured her that he will. Corey thinks that he would stay safe even if he ends up on the block next to Natalie, because Paul and Victor would want to split up James and Natalie. Nicole agreed.

7:00-8:00 PM: James asked Michelle who would be the best person to target in the double. Michelle said she thinks that it’s best to target Nicole because she is the brains behind that side and she is telling Corey what to do. Michelle said Corey wont care about Victor once Nicole is gone. James pointed out that Victor would be all that he has got at that point. James suggested that they take Victor out since there will be an endurance competition and everyone can beat Corey in that. Michelle said she can see Nicole sliding by and getting herself a seat in the Final 2. She mentioned that Nicole just proved herself in the endurance competition and she is going to beat both James and Natalie in mental competitions. She went on to say that Derrick was never on the block and he didn’t ruffle any feathers, just like Nicole. She added that Ian and Steve laid low like Nicole did, while Andy didn’t win many competitions but won. James said Michelle is probably right about Nicole needing to go. Michelle said Nicole plays dumb a lot but she knows the days and she turned up this week when she needed to win. If Nicole wins the veto, James thought it would be best to target Victor because he is stronger than Corey in endurance competitions. Michelle asked what will happen if Paul stays. James assured her that Paul is the target and he is going home. Michelle said she still thinks that she is going home.

8:00-9:00 PM: Nicole had been asking Corey why he was acting weird throughout the night. Corey told Victor that she may be mad about a story that he had told earlier. The story was off feeds but Victor said it was about something that happened 10 years ago. Corey said he will be friends with Nicole forever but they both just got out of relationships. Corey clarified that he will not come out of the house and get into a relationship. He thinks that Nicole feels that they have to be better than her and Hayden as soon as they get out. Corey mentioned to look how that ended. Corey then spoke to Nicole about how she has been acting weird. Nicole brought up that Victor made a comment to her about how they could kiss under the umbrella, similar to the comment that Paulie made to Natalie. She was upset that Corey replied by telling them to go ahead. She didn’t like that he would react that way. Corey explained that obviously it would make him upset if they did kiss, but his reply was sarcastic. Nicole then went on about how it has been a rough week for her. She feels as though Michelle will try to take her down before she leaves. Nicole said she needs to stop trying to ruin her game. Nicole told Corey that she has done nothing wrong. She called herself little and said she cannot carry all of this stress. She started crying and said that all of these people have been after her since Day 1. Nicole said she thinks about how miserable she will be if she has to go to jury. She told Corey that she does not want to give the jury members the satisfaction of seeing her walk through the doors. Nicole mentioned that she can see herself sitting in a Final 2 seat, which is something that she didn’t see during season 16. She worried about possibly leaving on Thursday if there is a double eviction, because she would then only make it two days further than she did last season.

11:00-12:00 AM: Michelle asked Natalie if Victor has been getting on her nerves. She told Natalie that she feels as though Victor has become more intense this week. Natalie said Victor has stayed away from her so she hasn’t really noticed a difference. The girls talked about wanting each other to win the game. Natalie said she would try to rally the jury in Michelle’s favour if she is there. Michelle said that she would do the same thing for Natalie. Natalie said she is really proud of them for battling their way through a season with vets and siblings in order to make it this far. Michelle talked about how she would nominate Corey and Nicole if she wins HoH, using Victor as the backdoor option if Nicole saves herself. James joined them. Michelle is still worried that she is the target, but James said Nicole would have told him if that were the case. He brought up how Nicole said before nominations that Paul is the target.

12:00-1:00 AM: Out by the hot tub, James, Michelle and Natalie continued to talk over their game plan. Natalie asked if they should target Nicole or Victor first. Michelle said she thinks that Nicole needs to go first. Natalie said Nicole is a big threat who won a physical HoH and a mental veto competition. James said he is not worried about Corey since they can beat him. While Michelle had earlier talked about nominating Corey and Nicole, they talked things over and agreed that nominating Nicole and Victor would be better. That way, Victor would have to save himself instead of saving Corey or Nicole. They think that Corey would be less likely to win the veto, and he would be the only one that could ruin the plan by forcing them to nominate one of their own if he were to win. James said they are pretty much guaranteeing themselves one of the seats in the Final 2 if they win the next HoH competition. Michelle asked what the others think about whether or not Victor would get the votes at the end. Michelle said her thought process is that he did something wrong to get evicted twice. Natalie said his social game was weak. James expected Victor would counter that by saying he won over eight competitions and fought his way back in. James said they can argued that he got evicted twice, they used him to get where they needed to be, and they had a strong enough social game to get to the end with far fewer competitions.
