Big Brother 18 Day 38 - James wins HoH, nominates Frank and Bridgette

July 22, 2016

5:00-6:00 PM: During tonight’s Battle Back episode, the first five evicted houseguests battled it out to get a second shot at the $500,000 grand prize. The competitions went as follows:

Round 1: Jozea defeated Glenn.
Round 2: Victor defeated Jozea.
Round 3: Victor defeated Bronte.
Round 4: Victor defeated Tiffany.

Victor earned a second chance. Julie informed the houseguests that one of the first five evictees would be returning. The doorbell then rang and Victor entered the house. Julie also revealed that there are clues throughout the house that lead to a secret room. If you are able to unlock the room, you will again access to a power.

9:00-10:00 PM: The live feeds returned following the west coast airing of the Battle Back episode. James is the new HoH. It was discussed that it was a 5.5 hour endurance competition. James nominated Bridgette and Frank for eviction. Frank is focused on getting Da’Vonne nominated as the replacement nominee. He spoke to Corey, Paul and Paulie about it. Paulie said that he would like to have Bridgette be the one to go should the nominations remain the same. In the have-not room, Natalie told James that Paulie went to Frank and was acting surprised that Bridgette and Frank were nominated. She said Paulie was acting like he was on Frank’s side and as if he couldn’t believe that this happened to Frank. Natalie said Paulie acted like Frank’s best friend. Natalie pointed out that she had told James she didn’t trust Paulie. James said everybody is playing everybody. James and Natalie then discussed the nominations. James mentioned that Bridgette would make it further if Frank were to go. Natalie thought that Victor should have been nominated. James said he didn’t have a lot of time to think about the nominations since he slept half of the day. He told Natalie that Victor could still end up going on the block but he thought that he was doing what the house wanted. Natalie said that they should have let Da’Vonne win HoH. James told her that Bridgette wouldn’t have dropped out of the competition if Da’Vonne didn’t. James said he spoke to Frank after nominations and Frank still wants to work with the two of them because he knows that this was the move that the house wanted. James figured that Bridgette would get voted out if Frank wins the veto, unless he nominates Da’Vonne next to her. Natalie said that nominating Da’Vonne would not be good for James’ game since she is not coming after him. Natalie circled back to talking about Paulie. She said that she is mad James had to do the dirty work for everyone and now they are pretending that they were not involved. Natalie mentioned that Paulie in particular was really trying to get James to nominate Bridgette and Frank. James said he messed up by nominating Bridgette. Natalie said she did not want Bridgette nominated since James had made a promise to her, likely in reference to a deal made during the HoH competition. Natalie advised James to speak to Bridgette and make amends with her. She brought up that it's best for Frank to remain nominated. James thought that Bridgette would be the only one he has to worry about coming after him next week, because he thinks that the others will appreciate that he went to bat for them this week.

10:00-11:00 PM: Natalie told James to make friends with Bridgette because the girls bully her. James said Michelle picks on a lot of people. Natalie called her a bully. Natalie brought up that Michelle, Nicole and Zakiyah know that they are not going to go on the block for a while since they have Corey, Paulie and Paul protecting them. James said he could have thrown a curveball by nominating Michelle and Zakiyah next to each other. Natalie said it would have pissed a lot of people off. James talked about making a move like that if he were to win again. Natalie told James that she is proud of him for winning HoH. Up in the HoH room, Nicole talked about how it feels like she has been there forever but only four people have been evicted. She told Zakiyah that she thinks Victor is the best competitor in the house, even better than Frank. Nicole said the scary thing is that she doesn’t know where Victor lies. She compared him to Caleb, saying that he will do whatever people tell him to do. They said it could work out in their favour if the person controlling them is on their side. Zakiyah figured that Paul would be the one. Nicole was fine with that.

11:00-12:00 AM: Frank quickly strategized with Bridgette about what to do if it is the prize and punishment veto competition. He said he doesn’t want Bridgette to give him the veto but she should not take it if she gets second place. He told her that she will get stuck with a unitard like he did during Big Brother 14. He later told her that she can take it if he is first if she wants, since he will then take a prize from one of the other houseguests. Bridgette suggested that it would be better for Frank to take the veto since it is more likely that they can get her the votes to stay as opposed to him. Frank said it’s probably going to be the same regardless of which one of them is up there.

1:00-2:00 AM: In the safari room, Paulie told Michelle and Victor that he will be pulling Frank off if he wins the veto tomorrow. Victor laughed at him. Michelle said whatever, Bridgette will go home then. Paulie said he wouldn’t mind that since Bridgette wins more. Michelle agreed. Paulie pointed out that Bridgette has been the one saving Frank. He wasn’t sure if Frank is waiting to turn it up or not, but he mentioned that Bridgette was the one battling to save Frank again last night. Victor said it’s perfect since it looks like Frank would even pick Paulie to play in the veto competition. Michelle said it’s funny that he would do that right after saying he wants Paulie out. Victor thought that James would pick him to play and then it would be over. Paulie brought up that Frank stirs the pot and lies but they know that. As for Bridgette, Paulie said she is the one that can actually win competitions to keep them safe. Michelle said she would rather have Bridgette leave first. Victor pointed out that Frank isn’t as much of a problem now that everybody knows he is a liar and a manipulator.
