BB17 Day 15 - Da'Vonne, John, Jason and Steve are nominated; Jason and Steve win the Battle of the Block

July 2, 2015

6:00-7:00 PM: During tonight’s live show, Jace was evicted by a vote of 12-1. Audrey was the lone vote to evict Jackie. The houseguests were then broken up into two groups for the HoH competition. Becky won the first competition and Shelli won the second competition. Kathy Griffin revealed this week’s BB Takeover. A phone will be placed inside of the Big Brother house this week. Kathy Griffin will be calling the houseguests. The houseguest that answers the seventh call will be given the power to cancel out three votes at next week’s eviction.

7:00-8:00 PM: When feeds returned, John was filling in Jeff on some things that happened with Audrey, suggesting that Audrey was throwing Jeff under the bus to him. James was also present and could not understand why Audrey has been trying so hard to target Jeff. John told them that as long as Audrey doesn’t play in the veto competition she will be gone this week. Jackie talked about the eviction and said that she doesn’t even remember what she said during her speech. She also mentioned to numerous houseguests that her heart broke when she saw Austin’s face after voting, since she could see how tough it was for him to have to vote against his friend Jace. Da’Vonne told Jeff and James that somebody voted against Jackie and she assumes that it was Austin. James said that it could have been Audrey too. Jeff agreed, adding that it would be a typical Audrey move to vote against the house and then start rumours about it. Da’Vonne mentioned that Audrey smiled and winked at her after the HoH competition, which leads her to believe that Audrey feels safe and that someone will be putting her on the the block.

8:00-9:00 PM: Austin and Clay discussed what they should do this week. They had previously discussed making Da’Vonne the target, though Austin question whether or not she should go up initially or as a backdoor option. Austin felt that the move would be to put her up initially and then tell people that the plan is to go after Audrey, as they then may relax a bit. They discussed that they need to reinforce it with Becky that Da’Vonne does not like her. Clay asked Vanessa who she would go after. She said James. Clay told her that he wants to go for Da’Vonne. Meanwhile, Jeff approached Audrey to clear the air about what has been going on of late. Jeff said that he felt as though Audrey was trying to set him up to be backdoored the night that she got him out of bed to bring him upstairs to question him. Audrey said that she lost her mind that night. Jeff said that he did not have a problem with Audrey but he has been distancing himself from her ever since she started throwing his name out there. Jeff also encouraged Audrey to mingle with the group, rather than isolate herself. She said that it’s tough when the people that you are close with turn their backs on you. She mentioned that someone even cast a vote against Jackie, likely so that they could blame it on her. Jeff told her that nobody is even thinking that way, as everybody expected Austin to vote for Jace. Audrey said that makes her feel better.

Clay joined Audrey and Jeff. He told Audrey that her best shot in the game is with him, Jeff and Shelli. Audrey said that she believes him. They then discussed that they need to be honest with each other. Audrey brought up that she overheard Jeff telling James that he can’t say anything to Clay or Shelli because he fears that it would get back to Audrey. Jeff admitted to it, though he said that it came up because James started the conversation. Clay said that he is worried that Jeff may be playing too many sides. Jeff told Clay that he is playing James a little but but there is no alliance so why not do it. As for Audrey, Clay said that it is hard to believe her after some of the things that she has done. Audrey continued to pin the rumours, such as that about the girls alliance, on Da’Vonne. She said that she will accept responsibility for things that she did but she did not do all of the things that she is being accused of.

Becky talked to Da’Vonne, James and Jason about her plan. She said that it’s clear that Audrey is the target, so the only remaining question is who the two pawns will be. Da’Vonne and Jason figured that Shelli may be against taking Audrey out, seeing as she genuinely cares about Audrey. Becky said that she has a different perspective to bring to Shelli, seeing as what Audrey did was try to destroy her life outside of the house with some of the things that she said, referring to Audrey questioning that Becky said racial slurs. James said that they shot that down as soon as Audrey started bringing it up. Becky figured that explaining all of this to Shelli may make her realize some things, seeing as Audrey could do this to her in the future. Jason still thought that Shelli could not be trusted to backdoor Audrey.

The “nominations today” message popped up on the living room screen, which led to Becky and Shelli going into a room to have a talk about nominations. The initial topic of discussion was Audrey. Shelli said that she does not want to hurt Audrey but there are some things that have led her to question whether or not Audrey is lying about things. She also said that she has two concerns about keeping Audrey in the game. The first is that people will target her if Audrey is around, while the second is that Audrey may not actually be loyal to her. Becky said that she wanted this HoH because it became personal with Audrey when Audrey began telling people that she is a “racist bigot”. Becky said that she even overheard Audrey saying it at one point. Becky told Shelli that Steve is someone that she would like to use as a pawn, though she does not know who the other nomination would be at this point. They both agreed that Clay and Jackie will be off limits and will be kept safe this week.

9:00-10:00 PM: Becky and Shelli had to choose the have-nots for the week. James, Jason, Meg and Steve were selected. Clay and Shelli discussed that Da’Vonne is their target, though Becky wants to go after Audrey. Clay originally thought that they would have to keep it a secret that they are after Da’Vonne, taking the opportunity to backdoor her if it presents itself. Shelli thought that Da’Vonne is someone that is only talking to her in order to turn her on Audrey, while she would never actually have her back. She explained to Clay that Da’Vonne would come after them next week even if she doesn’t go up originally, as she would know that she was the backdoor plan. Clay later suggested that Shelli nominate him with Da’Vonne so that he can throw the Battle of the Block to send Da’Vonne home. Shelli explained that too many things could go wrong and she cannot do that. Shelli then talked to Vanessa about her plan to target Da’Vonne. Vanessa said that if Shelli wants to put Da’Vonne up, it has to be with someone that will throw the competition. Shelli said that Becky would not be on board for that, because she wants to backdoor Audrey. Shelli listed off a ton of people that she would not nominate. Vanessa mentioned James as a possibility. Shelli brought up that Liz is the only one that didn’t talk to her after she won HoH.

Becky talked to Da’Vonne and told her that she is someone that she would like to work with. She said that Audrey is her target and that Da’Vonne is not one of her pawns. Da’Vonne revealed that her personal targets are Audrey, Steve and Austin in that order. Becky then talked to Jason, telling him that Audrey is being backdoored and that Shelli is on board with it. Jason said that he is expecting Becky to nominate her, since he nominated her last week. He pointed out that at least he would get a couple of chances to save himself but he would not want to be going up as Becky’s Plan B. Becky said that Steve is her Plan B. After speak to Jason, Becky quickly chatted with James about working together moving forward. The main thing in her talks was that she knows that she is on the outside and she does not just want to become an easy target next week.

10:00-11:00 PM: Austin talked to Shelli and said that they should put Da’Vonne up with someone that is going to throw the competition. He threw John’s name out there as an option. Shelli asked Austin what Liz’s feelings are about her. Austin said that she is afraid to talk to her cause she doesn’t know if she likes her. Austin told Shelli that Liz is super loyal and doesn’t lie to him, unlike everyone else but Clay, Shelli and Vanessa. While Austin talked to Shelli, Jeff was telling Becky that Audrey should not spend another day in the house. He said that she is highly manipulative. Jeff told Becky that Shell is unlikely to pull the trigger on Audrey. Next up it was Meg’s turn to talk to Shelli. Shelli told Meg that she is safe. Meg said that the people that she trusts are Shelli, Clay, Jeff and also Jason but only without Da’Vonne. Shelli revealed that she is planning on nominating Da’Vonne, not backdooring her. She explained that she would have to go after Jason if Da’Vonne won the PoV. Meg suggested that Shelli could nominate Austin with Da’Vonne, though Shelli had just finished telling Austin that he is safe.

Becky spoke to Jackie and told her that both Austin and Liz voted Jace out. Jackie said that it then had to have been Audrey that voted her out. She did not see the point of that and was not impressed. Both Becky and Shelli told Jackie that she is not going on the block. Becky told Jackie that she is nominating Jason and Steve, which Jackie then relayed to Shelli. Becky next talked to Steve, filling him in on her plan to go after the person that personally attacked her. Becky said that she needs to nominate an insider and an outsider as pawns. She said that Steve is a potential option. Steve offered her two weeks of safety if she did not nominate him. A short while later, Austin told Steve that Becky is going to nominate him.

Clay and Shelli talked to Jeff about the plan to target Da’Vonne. Shelli explained that she is more likely to target her than Audrey is. Clay assured Jeff that between him and Shelli, they can talk Audrey out of going after Jeff next week. Jeff said that if he gets on board with this plan they would have to take Audrey out next week. Clay and Shelli were fine with that. They then went back to discussing who to nominate alongside Da’Vonne to throw the competition. Clay offered to go up but both Jeff and Shelli were not on board with that. Clay didn’t trust anyone else to throw the competition. Shelli brought up John as someone that they could talk to about it. Clay, Jeff and Shelli then spoke to John, telling him that they really want to work with him and are willing to protect him. They eventually discussed that they would like him to throw the Battle of the Block if he goes up with Da’Vonne. Clay gave his word that he would keep John in the game and that he will sacrifice his own game if they think that John is going to leave. John said that he is on board with the plan.

11:00-12:00 AM: Austin told Audrey that they are golden this week as long as someone throws the competition in order to keep Shelli as HoH. Audrey was concerned that Becky would backdoor her, so she said that she would throw the competition for Shelli. Austin told her that it’s too risky since she would go home if she remains on the block. Audrey went to Shelli with the idea and was again told that it is too risky. Shelli had quick chats with both Liz and Steve, telling them that she is not nominating them and that they have nothing to worry about. Meanwhile, Clay was talking to James and Meg about the possibility that Da’Vonne will be the target this week. Meg admitted that Da’Vonne would be after Clay if she stayed. Clay assured both of them that they can talk Audrey into targeting someone else if she wins HoH next week. They also discussed that Audrey would need to leave after Da’Vonne does.

Becky and Shelli met up in the HoH room to discuss nominations. Becky said that she will nominate Jason and Steve. Audrey is her target and Steve is her backup plan. Shelli said that she obviously cannot nominate Audrey initially, so she is putting up Da’Vonne cause she scares her and John cause it’s easy. Becky said that she is fine with that. Jeff spoke to John and told him that he will try to get Austin nominated instead of him. John asked if Clay and Shelli really do trust him. Jeff confirmed that they do. Jeff revealed that he is scared about the plan to keep Audrey in the game. He also talked to John about how Austin is a big threat and is someone that threw his own friends under the bus. He told John that Liz is more loyal. Steve was then filled in on the plan by Austin. Austin said that the whole place is going to blow up when Da’Vonne is nominated. Austin explained that Da’Vonne is the target for Shelli and Audrey is the target for Becky, so Steve is good as long as he wins the Battle of the Block that John is supposed to be throwing. Steve was on board with the plan.

2:00-3:00 AM: The nomination ceremony took place. Becky nominated Jason and Steve for eviction. Shelli nominated Da’Vonne and John for eviction. Becky spoke to her two nominees and told them that she feels that this is a pretty good week to be nominated, since there is a clear target. She said that she would like to see them win the Battle of the Block and she will not ask them to throw it. Becky then spoke to Steve alone and told him that the reason she put him up was because people in the house didn’t know if he was working with Audrey, since he was talking to her while she remained in bed. Steve said that he was being human with her and he was not talking game. Becky said that it didn’t bother her but it bothered others. Becky suggested that Steve should avoid Audrey this week because people cannot separate personal and game.

Da’Vonne talked to Jason and said that everyone knew that they were going up. Jason agreed and said that they are the Plan B and that they will be targeted if Audrey cannot be evicted this week. Jason explained that no one will ever send John home over Da’Vonne or send Steve home over him. Da’Vonne wasn’t even sure that Audrey would be backdoored at all. Da’Vonne pointed out to James and Jason that Audrey sat in Shelli’s bed and lied to her face yet Shelli said in her speech that she could not be trusted. Jason said that Audrey played the sympathy card just well enough to save herself, while the big bad wolves that checked her are now on the block. Jason figured that Shelli would not nominate Audrey. He said that he would almost want to throw the BoB so that Becky remains HoH. However, Jason said that he knows that he would go home over Steve. Vanessa spoke to Shelli and told her that she thinks that this is a great plan, because she believes that John is going to throw the Battle of the Block. Vanessa told Shelli that her one weakness was appearing weak and like she wasn’t a player, which is something that has now changed with this move.

3:00-4:00 AM: Clay and Shelli discussed that it wont be good for them if Audrey keeps coming up to the HoH room. Clay filled Shelli in on what James had told him about Audrey approaching him about creating an alliance with Jason and Da’Vonne. Shelli wasn’t sure that she believed that. Clay thought that James told him the truth. Shelli and Audrey agreed that they cannot trust anything that Audrey says anymore. Shelli did not want to talk game with her either. Clay agreed and said that it doesn’t mean anything anymore.

6:00-7:00 AM: Feeds returned following the Battle of the Block. Jason and Steve won the competition. Becky has been dethroned. Da’Vonne and John remain nominated. For more details on the fallout from the Battle of the Block, read our Day 16 Recap.
